<p>Broome&#8217;s Climate</p>
<p>Broome is g<input id="apps" type="hidden" />enerally very ho&#116&#32&#105n the summer months and very wet due to the monsoo&#110&#32&#114ains fur<input id="stats" type="hidden" />ther north. <p>History of Broome Western&#32&#65&#117stralia</p>
<p>Broome is situated on the tra<input id="phpint" type="hidden" />ditional land&#115&#32&#111f the Yawuru people.</p>
<p>The first European to visit B&#114&#111&#111me was Will<s></s>iam Dampier in 1688 and again in 1699. &#77&#97&#110y of the coastal features of the area <input type="hidden" />are named by&#32&#104&#105m. In 1879, Charles Harper suggested that the pear&#108&#105&#110g industry c<input id="counter" type="hidden" />ould be served by a port closer to the&#32&#112&#101arling grounds and that Roebuck Bay wou<input id="stats" type="hidden" />ld be suita&#98&#108&#101. In 1883, John Forrest selected the site for the &#116&#111&#119n, and it was<input id="apps" type="hidden" /> named after Sir Frederick Broome, th&#101&#32&#71overnor of Western Australia from 1883 t<input type="hidden" />o 1889.</p>
<p>In&#32&#49&#5689, a telegraph undersea cable was laid from Broom&#101&#32&#116o Singapore, c<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />onnecting to England. Hence the name&#32&#67&#97ble Beach given to the landfall site.</p>
<p>The<input id="tracker" type="hidden" /> town has&#32&#97&#110 interesting history based around the exploits of &#116&#104&#101 men and women <input id="phpint" type="hidden" />who developed the pearling industry&#44&#32&#115tarting with the harvesting of oysters for<input id="tracker" type="hidden" /> mother &#111&#102&#32pearl in the 1880s to the current major cultured p&#101&#97&#114l farming enterp<input id="stats" type="hidden" />rises. The riches from the pearl b&#101&#100&#115 did not come cheap, and the town&#8217;s Japanese cemetery is <input id="phpint" type="hidden" />the res&#116&#105&#110g place of 919 Japanese divers who lost their live&#115&#32&#119orking in the ind<input id="counter" type="hidden" />ustry. </p>
<p>Many more were lost at se&#97&#44&#32and the exact number of deaths is unknown. T<input id="phpint" type="hidden" />he Jap&#97&#110&#101se were only one of the major ethnic groups who fl&#111&#99&#107ed to Broome to wo<input id="counter" type="hidden" />rk on the luggers or the shore b&#97&#115&#101d activities supporting the harvesting of oys<input type="hidden" />ters &#102&#114&#111m the waters around Broome. They were specialist d&#105&#118&#101rs and, despite bei<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />ng considered enemies, became a&#110&#32&#105ndispensable part of the industry until World <input id="stats" type="hidden" />War &#73&#73&#46</p>
<p>Broome was attacked by Japanese aircraft on 3 Mar&#99&#104&#321942. The air raid k<input id="counter" type="hidden" />illed at least 88 people.</p>
<p>The &#87&#101&#115t Australian mining boom of the 1960s, as well <input id="apps" type="hidden" />as &#116&#104&#101 growth of the tourism industry, also helped Broom&#101&#32&#100evelop and diversify.<input type="hidden" /> Broome is one of the fastest&#32&#103&#114owing towns in Australia.</p>
<p>At Gantheaume Point an<input id="phpint" type="hidden" />d &#51&#48&#32metres out to sea are dinosaur footprints believed&#32&#116&#111 be from the Cretaceou<s></s>s Age approximately 130 mill&#105&#111&#110 years ago. <p>Broome entered into a Sister City agreeme&#110&#116&#32with Taiji, Japan in 19<input id="counter" type="hidden" />81 as historic ties between&#32&#116&#104e two towns date back to the early 1900s, when Jap<input id="stats" type="hidden" />&#97&#110&#32became instrumental in laying the groundwork of Br&#111&#111&#109e&#8217;s pearling industry. The annual dolp<input id="stats" type="hidden" />hin hunting in Taiji was t&#104&#101&#32subject of the 2009 documentary The Cove, and spar&#107<input id="apps" type="hidden" />&#101&#100 a unanimous decision by the town&#8217;s council, headed by Graeme Ca&#109&#112&#98ell, to end the relations<input id="stats" type="hidden" />hip with the town if the &#100&#111&#108phin hunt were to continue. <p><b>The 10% rule</b><br />
W<input id="counter" type="hidden" />hether or not you&#8217;re looking to do so&#109&#101&#32serious training with the weight vest, or simply j&#117&#115&#116 <input id="tracker" type="hidden" />want to wear it round the house to burn off a few&#32&#109&#111re calories, it&#8217;s best to start with small<s></s> weights and work your&#32&#119&#97y up.</p>
<p>The rule of thumb is to start with approxima&#116&#101&#108y <input id="phpint" type="hidden" />10% of your body weight in the weight vest and w&#111&#114&#107 it upwards gradually. If you&#8217;re doing some<input id="counter" type="hidden" />thing high impact lik&#101&#32&#114unning, we&#8217;d even go as low as 5%. If your joints aren&#8217;t conditioned to runnin&#103&#32&#119ith<input id="stats" type="hidden" /> a heavier load, it&#8217;s best to let them get used to the extra &#119&#101&#105ght gradually.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re a beginner to inter<input type="hidden" />mediate athlete, we &#119&#111&#117ldn&#8217;t suggest you use more than 20% of your own body weight when&#32&#119&#111rkin<s></s>g out as too much weight on your joints can we&#97&#114&#32them out fast. </p>
<p>Working out wit<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />h a weight vest is &#105&#110&#116ense, so if you&#8217;re not used to it, play it safe and don&#8217;t risk injury.</p>

A wei&#103&#104&#116 vest that is too loose can allow <input type="hidden" />the weights to s&#119&#105&#110g around. <p>Equally it&#8217;s can&#8217;t be too tight, as it will restrict your breathing&#46&#32&#69xtra weig<input id="phpint" type="hidden" />ht on your chest and core is going to mak&#101&#32&#98reathing marginally harder anyway, s<input type="hidden" />imply because &#111&#102&#32the extra weight on the ribcage, so you don&#8217;t want to make it ev&#101&#110&#32harder for<input type="hidden" /> yourself by adding something that is to&#111&#32&#116ight and stifling.</p>
<p><b>Plan Out Your Trai<s></s>ning</b><br />
Decide w&#104&#97&#116 sorts of exercises you&#8217;re going to use it for. <p>People take different amounts of ti&#109&#101&#32<input id="counter" type="hidden" />to breathe in and out, so giving them a set patter&#110&#32&#119ill make them hold their br<input id="apps" type="hidden" />eath. A posture that ta&#107&#101&#115 longer than their normal breath will probably res&#117&#108&#116 <input type="hidden" />in the student finishing their breath by the time&#32&#116&#104ey are 2/3 of the way throug<input id="counter" type="hidden" />h the posture. They wi&#108&#108&#32hold their breath for the rest of it.</p>
<p>Breath holdi&#110&#103&#32wi<input type="hidden" />ll cause tension in the body, and tension is our&#32&#101&#110emy. One of the Taiji goals i<input id="phpint" type="hidden" />s to relax and let go&#32&#111&#102 tension, not create more in the body. Holding you&#114&#32&#98rea<s></s>th for long periods of time whilst practicing f&#111&#114&#109 is also not good for the body<input id="counter" type="hidden" />. The body will reme&#109&#98&#101r the breath holding and out of habit it will make&#32&#121&#111u do<s></s> this in your everyday life, and that will onl&#121&#32&#109ake you even more tense.</p>
<p>Taiji <input type="hidden" />has no fixed breath&#105&#110&#103 pattern because the body&#8217;s internal can vary tremendously from &#100&#97&#121 to d<input id="stats" type="hidden" />ay, depending on your general state of health&#44&#32&#121our emotional balance or how fat<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />igued you are. </p>
<p>On&#101&#32&#100ay breathing may be easy, the next it could strugg&#108&#101&#46 You h<input id="counter" type="hidden" />ave little conscious control over this, beca&#117&#115&#101 this regulation is done by your <input id="phpint" type="hidden" />body. <p>Practice breathing wit<input type="hidden" />h simple move&#109&#101&#110ts. Walking is a good movement to use. Your body w&#105&#108&#108 gradually <input id="tracker" type="hidden" />get the idea, and it will start to coor&#100&#105&#110ate your breathing with your movement.<input id="apps" type="hidden" /> Once you ge&#116&#32&#105t, it will just happen without you having to consc&#105&#111&#117sly interven<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />e, just like riding a bicycle.</p>
<p>Practic&#101&#32&#98reathing with very natural movements, s<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />uch as walk&#105&#110&#103 and eventually your body will get the idea, so th&#97&#116&#32when you do s<input id="apps" type="hidden" />tart doing Taiji form, your body will&#32&#97&#117tomatically breathe to the movement, you<input id="stats" type="hidden" /> won&#8217;t have to try to &#8220;fit&#8221; your breathing to the fo&#114&#109&#46</p>
<p>Your body will get the idea of coordinating movem&#101&#110&#116 with breathin<input id="stats" type="hidden" />g and it will automatically start do&#32&#114&#101gulate your breathing during your form pr<input id="stats" type="hidden" />actice.</p>

<p>Tai chi is an ancient mart&#105&#97&#108 art and healing art form <input type="hidden" />originating in China wit&#104&#32&#115trong roots in the Chinese Taoism. The actual orig&#105&#110&#32<input type="hidden" />of Tai Chi stems back to times that are now shroud&#101&#100&#32by legend. The early practi<input id="tracker" type="hidden" />tioners of Taoism under&#115&#116&#111od that all life and other matter in the universe &#99&#111&#110s<input id="counter" type="hidden" />ists of energy and this was born out by modern ph&#121&#115&#105cs when Einstein proved that<input type="hidden" /> energy and matter is &#116&#104&#101 same thing. The Chinese call this energy Chi. Oth&#101&#114&#32cu<input id="apps" type="hidden" />ltures call this energy Ki or Prana and it is a &#99&#111&#110cept that is widely used in m<input id="stats" type="hidden" />artial arts or the he&#97&#108&#105ng arts. </p>
<p>For the Chi in the human body to remain &#104&#101&#97lth<s></s>y, it needs to constantly be moving. Stagnant C&#104&#105&#32or blocked Chi leads to illnes<input id="apps" type="hidden" />s and disease, an id&#101&#97&#32that is widely used in traditional Chinese medicin&#101&#32&#115uch <s></s>as acupuncture. Tai Chi was developed to promo&#116&#101&#32the movement of Chi throughout <s></s>the human body. </p>
<p>To&#100&#97&#121 five main schools or styles of Tai Chi are practi&#115&#101&#100 all <input id="stats" type="hidden" />around the world. These styles are the Chen, &#89&#97&#110g, Wu Yu Chian, Wu Jian and Sun.</p><input id="apps" type="hidden" />
<p>The Chen style of&#32&#84&#97i Chi is now understood to form the basis of all m&#111&#100&#101rn Tai<input id="apps" type="hidden" /> Chi styles and it was developed by a family&#32&#119&#105th the name Chen. They lived clos<input id="apps" type="hidden" />e to a Shaolin te&#109&#112&#108e and were already known for their skill in martia&#108&#32&#97rts, bu<s></s>t began to focus on internalising their tra&#105&#110&#105ng to develop the flow of Chi. The<input id="tracker" type="hidden" /> family still tr&#97&#118&#101l the world, demonstrating their skill level in th&#105&#115&#32form of <input id="counter" type="hidden" />Tai Chi. </p>
<p>Another Shaolin Kung Fu martial &#97&#114&#116ist, Yang Lu Chan undertook his Tai<s></s> Chi training d&#105&#114&#101ctly from the Chen family, overcoming a number of &#111&#98&#115tacles in<input id="tracker" type="hidden" /> order to do so. He studied the Chen styl&#101&#32&#102or many years and passed his skill d<input id="stats" type="hidden" />own to his two&#32&#115&#117rviving sons and his grandson. It was his grandson&#44&#32&#89ang Cheng <input id="stats" type="hidden" />Fu who developed the Yang style that is &#116&#104&#101 most popular form of Tai Chi in the <input id="apps" type="hidden" />world. </p>
<p>Both &#116&#104&#101 Yang and the Chen styles of Tai Chi influenced th&#101&#32&#100evelopment <input id="stats" type="hidden" />of the Wu Yu Xian style as its founder &#119&#104&#111 was Wu Yu Xian originally trained wit<input type="hidden" />h Yang Lu Ch&#97&#110&#32an d later Chen Quing Ping. After a number of year&#115&#32&#111f training h<s></s>e developed his own style, using eleme&#110&#116&#115 from both of his masters. This form of<input id="phpint" type="hidden" /> Tai Chi is&#32&#110&#111t widely practiced outside of China. </p>
<p>In the early&#32&#112&#97rt of the 20t<input id="apps" type="hidden" />h Century, after the dynasties had fa&#108&#108&#101n, the Wu Jian style became popular in C<input id="stats" type="hidden" />hina when &#105&#116&#32was promoted by the secretary general of the marti&#97&#108&#32arts associati<input id="counter" type="hidden" />on, who had been bettered during a t&#114&#97&#105ning bout by Yang Chen Fu. It was a form <s></s>that was &#100&#101&#118eloped to accommodate the restrictive movements of&#32&#116&#104e long flowing <input type="hidden" />robes of the Manchurian dynasty. To&#100&#97&#121 it is second in popularity across the glo<input id="apps" type="hidden" />be only &#116&#111&#32the Yang style. </p>
<p>The last of the five major Tai Ch&#105&#32&#115tyles is he Sun <input id="apps" type="hidden" />style. Like the other four styles &#105&#116&#32is named after the family that developed it<input id="counter" type="hidden" />, namel&#121&#32&#83un Lu Tang. It is the newest of all the styles and&#32&#103&#114ew from Sun s tra<s></s>ining in a number of martial arts&#32&#97&#110d the Wu Yu Xian style of Tai Chi. When Sun <input id="counter" type="hidden" />died, &#104&#105&#115 daughter continued to teach the form in the same &#119&#97&#121 that her father t<input type="hidden" />aught her.
